Singapore engages global maritime at Nor-ShippingSingapore engages global maritime at Nor-Shipping
Singapore is actively engaging the global maritime community at Nor Shipping 2013. The Singapore pavillion, covering an area of 218.5 sq m, is jointly organised by the Singapore Maritime Foundation and the Association of Sinagpore Maritime Industires.

SMF chairman Michael Chia told Seatrade Global, "Singapore is a leader in several of the niche maritime and shipping areas so we have to continue to engage other players in the global maritime community."
He added just as Singapore establishes a presence in major maritime arenas like Nor Shipping, other countries "reciprocate" by participating in Singapore's premier maritime event Sea Asia - the biennial event organised by Seatrade and SMF.
SMF executive director David Chin said, "We believe that for Singapore to project itself on the world stage, we must be seen in all the major maritime events."
Winnie Low, ASMI's executive director, said, "We organise Singapore pavillions in many shows to help companies increase their exposure in the major maritime markets."
She added that the Singapore pavillion is partly funded by IE Singapore.
"Without IE support, it would be harder for the smaller boys to participate because the costs can be high. IE Singapore's funding makes it more cost effective."
