Tomini said it had decided to consolidate commercial management operations of its fleet 23 bulk carriers under Tomini Shipping at its headquarters in Dubai.

It marks a major shift for the company that has worked with Alpina Chartering for over 40 years with the Danish company handling commercial operations of Tomini’s fleet, while Dubai-based company handled ownership, finance and technical management.

Numair Shaikh, CEO of Tomini Group, said: “Today marks a significant milestone for Tomini Group as we start the transition of bringing the commercial management operations of our fleet fully in-house. This strategic decision is a testament to our commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and aligns with our long-term goals of growth and optimisation. We extend our deepest gratitude to Alpina Chartering Aps for their support over the years.”

The transition process will take place over the coming year and Tomini Group will eventually assume full responsibility for all commercial management activities, including chartering, freight operations, and client relationships.

The transition, agreed upon by the Shaikh and Kampmann families, aims to enhance operational efficiency and their plans for the future.

Tomini’s fleet of bulkers ranges from Handysize to Newcastlemax.
