ADNOC shipping arm signs up for Marorka shipboard software
ADNOC shipping arm ADNATCO & NGSCO has signed a multi-million dollar Memorandum of Understanding with Marorka for shipboard monitoring systems aboard its fleet.

The system, Marorka Onboard, uses data points from as many as 500 sources, measuring fuel consumption, weather and other conditions, reconciling the vessel’s trim, draft, speed, and other operational criteria in order to maximise performance.

“The system is capable of monitoring vessel energy consumption and providing support and advice to ships' officers on how to improve hull efficiency, main propulsion performance and voyage management,” said ADNATCO & NGSCO ceo Ali Obaid Al-Yabhouni at a signing ceremony in Abu-Dhabi. “These three elements are the main concerns for any shipping company looking to improve operational efficiency and reduce their ships' carbon footprint.

“The system is already installed onboard six vessels where it has demonstrated successful results with potential energy savings of up to 10%. The system will be installed on board another 16 vessels, including bulk supramax, handysize, aframax tanker, panamax, LNG and LPG vessels.”

Over the last year Marorka has signed deals with UASC, Nordic Tankers, Neste Shipping and Mideast Energy Management for its software and equipment.
