Dubai sees sharp rise in marine craft and crew registrations
Dubai is reporting a sharp increase in marine craft and crew license registrations in 2015.

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DCMA) reported what it called a “remarkable increase” in demand for marine craft registrations 1,623 in 2015, compared to 945 in 2014, and 2,396 marine crew licenses last year, against 945 a year earlier.

“We observed a huge demand for the licensing of marine crafts and crew over the last months due to the facilities provided by DMCA such as the ‘Exam in Your Office’ service which was launched to make exams for obtaining the marine driving license faster and more convenient,” said Amer Ali, executive director of DCMA.

“DMCA is continuously working on the development of maritime licensing service mechanisms and improving customer services to keep pace with rapid regional and international changes and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction in Dubai’s maritime sector,” he added.
