Speedcast bags Gulf Marine Services contract
Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has awarded Speedcast a multi-year communications contract for its fleet of offshore barges.

Speedcast will provide a dual-beam Ku-band satellite service for GMS’ fleet of nine self-propelled, self-elevating accommodation jack-up barges.

“We have a modern fleet that enables us to serve our clients’ needs, which require sophisticated communications systems,” said Simon Cook, coo of GMS.

“The Middle East is a critically important market for the offshore oil sector,” said Piers Cunningham, vp of maritime services at SpeedCast.  “SpeedCast has continued to invest in its network and infrastructure to service the demanding requirements of its offshore customers.  Likewise, SpeedCast has continued to invest in products and services, for both FSS and MSS, that allow us to serve as a one-stop-shop for our maritime and energy customers’ critical communications.”
