Vitol to support new bunkering service in Nigerian waters
Commodities trader Vitol has announced that it will support its partner PPPFM in launching a new bunkering operation in Nigerian waters.

The bunkering operation will also be backed by Secure Anchorage Area (SAA) West Africa, protected by multiple armed patrol boats.

“Bunkers are supplied to clients utilising PPPFM’s bunkering vessels/barges with all operations protected by the SAA team, who have provided maritime clients with 100% successful 24/7 security throughout West Africa since May 2013,” Vitol said in a statement.

PPPFM is fully licensed by Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources, according to Vitol.

The SAA, established in 2013, is a zone where vessels can anchor safely without fear of pirate attacks.
