Zhonggu Logistics orders up to eight containerships at Jinling Shipyard

Chinese container shipping service provider, Zhonggu Logistics, has placed an order at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard to build up to eight containerships.

The order includes six firm 4,900 teu boxships and another two options of the same type ship.

Earlier this month, Zhonggu Logistics signed contract with the private Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of ten 4,600 teu containerships.

All the 18 vessels are scheduled for delivery during the fourth quarter of 2022 and the first half of 2024.

As early as 2014, Zhonggu Logistics ordered four 2,500 teu boxships at Jinling Shipyard and added another six 1,900t eu container ships in 2017.
