International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) has inaugurated container operations at TecPlata, in the port of La Plata, 60km from Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.

TecPlata terminal was already performing bulk operations but recently signed a contract with the shipping line Log In that enabled it to begin container shipments.

The company had not inked previous contracts because there was no provincial infrastructure to the port, connections and roads, which are now in place.

The investment for this development of the terminal was $440m and the following phases of expansion must be completed before 2028.
