As at 28 September 2017, three of the five vessel transactions have been completed, boosting Scorpio Tankers’ liquidity by approximately $21m in aggregate after the repayment of the outstanding debt.
The sale price for each vessel is $27.5m, and Scorpio Tankers will bareboat charter-in the ships for a period of seven years at $9,025 per day per vessel.
Scorpio Tankers also has three one-year options to extend the bareboat charter agreements beyond the initial term. In addition, the company has purchase options starting the end of the fifth year and until the end of the agreements.
The vessels, all built in 2012, are STI Amber, STI Topaz, STI Ruby, STI Garnet and STI Onyx.
