Another former president of ST Marine charged for corruption

Another former president of ST Marine charged for corruption
A former president of ST Marine, an arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering, has been charged with corruption in a Singapore court on Tuesday, following an earlier case involving another former president who was also charged.

See Leong Teck, charged with seven counts of corruption, held the top role at ST Marine from December 1997 to February 2008. See, however, was not the first former ST Marine executive to face the law.

ST Marine had earlier announced on 11 December that three other former employees, including another former president Chang Cheow Teck, were also charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Penal Code.

Chang held the ST Marine president position from March 2008 to April 2010 and was president of ST Aerospace from May 2010 to June 2014.

In the latest statement, ST Engineering reiterated that it does not condone fraud, including corruption and bribery. “ST Engineering is committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance and recognises that fraud is detrimental to the reputation of the ST Engineering Group,” the company said.
