The OceanGuaranteed service includes a less-than-containerload service from Asia to Canada, Mexico and the US that provides delivery on a pre-determined date or a refund if the date slips. A similar service, APL Guaranteed, applies for full containerload shipments.
The addition of Jakarta brings the number of origin ports for the partners' guaranteed services to 14. The service was recently expanded to the south China port of Xiamen, and Fuzhou which is linked to the OceanGuaranteed network by truck.
APL Logistics and Con-way Freight launched OceanGuaranteed in 2006 while APL Guaranteed for full container loads was introduced two years later. APL Logistics said the on-time record for OceanGuaranteed has remained at 99% since inception.
