The new office will be head by former Joachim Grieg director Sturle Waardal and will have strong experience in the dry bulk market with a team that also includes Henrik Lahn-Johannessen, Erland Holm and Walter Birkelund.
“We look forward to this new challenge and to providing a comprehensive, dynamic service to all our clients; exposure to Asian markets through Howe Robinson’s network of offices should be particularly beneficial,” said Waardal.
Bergen is home to over 70 shipping companies with a major presence in the open hatch dry bulk carrier market.
Managing partner of Howe Robinson’s dry cargo business Guy Hindley said: “Bergen is an important centre for the maritime industry and we are delighted to welcome this new team into Howe Robinson.”
Singapore-headquartered Howe Robinson has 12 offices spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
