A supply vessel sank in the traffic separation scheme (TSS) of the Singapore Strait on Thursday morning.

The Dominica-flagged supply vessel Ocean Cooper 2 capsized and sank at around 7-15am in the westbound lane of the TSS of the Singapore Strait around 3 nm from Pedra Branca, the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said.

The three Indonesian crew of the vessel were rescued by an accompanying supply vessel the Jolly Rachel.

The MPA said that traffic was unaffected in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

“MPA has issued navigational broadcasts asking ships to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the incident. MPA has deployed a craft to conduct a hydrographic survey of the wreck,” the port authority said.
