East Jambi seaport to come under infrastructure programme

East Jambi seaport to come under infrastructure programme
Jambi: The construction of a seaport at Ujung Jabung Jambi in Sumatra's East Jambi province is among several projects the Indonesian government is proposing to fast track under the MP3EI infrastructure development plan, local media reported.

The Jambi provincial administration is being urged to accelerate the construction of a seaport in Tanjung Jabung Timur regency, which is expected to become a gateway for East Sumatra's economic development.

Bringing it under the MP3EI programme would give the provincial government access to some state funding.

It is anticipated the project will be developed on a Private Public Partnership (PPP) basis with the private sector and financing details are still being worked out.
