Golden Energy Offshore orders Ulstein pair in China

Golden Energy Offshore has signed  a shipbuilding contract with Chinese yard Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering in China for two Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) and two options.

Due for delivery in the first half of 2016, the vessels will be of Ulstein's PX121H design with an extra deck. The 18 m 4,000 dwt ships will be DP2 equipped with accommodation for up to 30 and 850 sq m of deck space.

"We are glad to announce this contract with Golden Energy Offshore, who is a new customer to us. The PX121 design has become very sought-after in a short period of time, and including these vessels, a total of 24 vessels for seven different shipowners have been contracted," said Gunvor Ulstein, ceo of Ulstein Group.

Ålesund, Norway-based Golden Energy Offshore has a fleet of seven owned and managed ships with an average age around 3 years.
