The orders are for four platform supply vessels (PSVs) and two anchor handling tug supply and standby vessels (AHTSSVs) with 150 tonnes bollard pull.

The PSVs are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2015 and the AHTSSVs in the last quarter of 2015, according to an announcement by Mumbai-based engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T), parent company of L&T Shipbuilding.

The newbuildings will be equipped with DP2 capability and will be suitable for fire-fighting, emergency response, rescue and standby, offshore supply, oil recovery and related duties.

The PSVs will be provided with diesel-electric propulsion and the AHTSSVs will be provided with advanced diesel-hybrid propulsion.

“These orders are in addition to the order received last year from Halul Offshore Services Company for two PSVs and two AHTSSVs,” L&T said.
