Vard secures $165m order for dive support vessel

Offshore vessels designer and builder Vard Holdings has secured a contract with a new customer Harkand Group to build one diving support and construction vessel valued at over NOK1bn ($164.6m).

The specialised offshore vessel is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2016. The contract includes an option to order a second similar vessel.

The diving support and construction vessel will be fitted with a 250-tonne offshore crane, a ROV hangar, and a twin bell 18 Man saturation diving system, supporting split level diving operations to a maximum diving depth of 300 metres.
