Vard, wholly-owned by Italy's shipbuilding group Fincantieri, will deliver the PSV from Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam in the second quarter of 2015.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

The 4,000-dwt offshore vessel will be equipped with standby, rescue, firefighting and oil recovery functions, and designed with high cargo capacity and low fuel consumption, according to Vard.

This is the second order by Carlotta Offshore with Vard Vung Tau.

Last Friday, Vard bagged an order to build one arctic anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel for Bourbon.
