Vroon invested in the MEO system for its Ulstein PX121 design offshore vessel which runs multi-engines. Rather than being based on rigid kW load points with all engines running at the same load point with MEO different engines can be operated at independent load factors reducing fuel consumption by double-digit percentages.

Over a nine-month period with the MEO installed on the VOS Partner the company was able to save 100,000 litres of fuel over a nine-month period, which Vroon was able to document to show clients the value of having the system installed on the vessel.

“In today’s low-price oil economy, it is cost reductions like those driven by VOS Partner with MEO that allow producers to turn a profit,” Caterpillar said.
