Ezion partners Sinotrans & CSC to enter China offshore windfarm market
Singapore’s Ezion Holdings has made an official entry into the China offshore windfarm market with the establishment of Sinomarine & Teras (Tianjin Offshore Co) with China’s Sinotrans & CSC Holdings.
The new Sinomarine & Teras (Tianjin Offshore) Co will enable the integration of China’s domestic requirements for the operations of service rigs in the offshore windfarm market.
The new set up also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Huadian Corporation on 28 June to support offshore wind power installation projects in China and expects to operate two service rigs for offshore windfarm installation project by end-2016.
China is rich in offshore wind energy resrouces with more than 18,000 sea miles of coastline and three million square kilometres of usable sea area that offers broad development opportunities for offshore wind projects, according to Ezion.
Wang Kai Yuen, chairman of Ezion, said: “The development of renewable energy does not only contribute to the improvement of China’s climate and environment, but also to the world itself where the major countries have deliberated and concluded clear objectives during the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.
“Hence, we will unswervingly adhere to this goal as a social responsibility for our business,” he said.
