The patented elevator-type assembly system promises easier, safer, and faster installation and maintenance of wind turbines and nacelles, without the need for large cranes, barges or heavy lift vessels.

ABS has completed design reviews based on class and legal requirements.

“ABS is committed to supporting the US offshore wind industry by assisting our partners and customers throughout the life cycle of their projects,” said Rob Langford, ABS vice president for global offshore renewables.

‘As a US company working on a unique solution to solve some of the most pressing issues affecting the offshore wind market, we appreciate ABS' support of the AIP process and the visit to our industrial demonstration unit. In the renewable energy market, it is important that we work together to find solutions that reduce costs and increase installation efficiency to support offshore wind energy production, and we are delighted to be working with ABS on these technologies,’ added Kent A. Johnson, CEO of CLS Wind.
