Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited’s Qatari unit has clinched a $10m contract to provide additional subsea cable installation and related diving services work for an existing customer.

Mermaid Subsea Services in Qatar will commence the work in April and it is scheduled for completion within three months. Mermaid Subsea Services will utilise the chartered-in DP2 construction barge Mubarak Supporter along with other specialised vessels if required, as well as associated equipment and specialist personnel.
In 2013, Mermaid Maritime announced the establishment of a new cable lay division as part of its strategic initiative to expand its services offering to customers in the Middle East.
“Since founding this division Mermaid has successfully completed several cable lay projects to date,” Mermaid Maritime said.
