Mermaid Maritime wins $16m Middle East contract

Mermaid Maritime has won a $16m subsea services contract in the growing Middle East market.

The offshore services company said in a stock market announcement that work for the job in one of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, is scheduled to be performed in the Arabian Gulf from August 2018 until March 2019.

Mermaid plans to use its DP2 Dive Support Vessel Mermaid Endurer equipped with the Air and SAT Dive systems to carry out the overhauling and dry docking of the calm buoys and installation and disconnection of certain Single Point Moorings (SPMs) for an international oil and gas company, with further options for the removal and reinstallation of the additional SPMs.

Mermaid noted that the new contract win is in line with its ambitious strategy to expand its client base in its Middle East core market by providing a safe, quality yet cost effective service.
