V.Group expands in offshore with Core-IRM acquisition

V.Group has acquired Singapore-based offshore inspection repair and maintenance (IRM) company Core-IRM.

Singapore-headquartered Core-IRM provides a range of services including underwater inspection, hull cleaning and specialist surveys, as well as offshore project based engineering. The company operates across Southeast Asia and has a subsidiary in Malaysia, and has joint ventures in Indonesia and Brunei.

“This acquisition will further expand the range of services that V.Group offers to its clients in the offshore and marine services market,” said Clive Richardson, V.Group ceo and president.

“Core-IRM’s customer base includes blue chip offshore operators and services companies, who have welcomed the greater technical assurance and scale benefits that the combined business will offer.”

Core-IRM will continue to be headed by Allan Nicholson as managing director. “My team and I are excited about becoming a part of V.Group and look forward to leveraging on V.Group’s unparalleled marine and offshore technical capabilities globally to extend Core-IRM’s footprint globally as well as extending our service capabilities,” Nicholson said.

Core-IRM gain access to a global network of offices through V.Group’s in-water services company UMC in locations such as the Middle East, Indian Sub-continent, Brazil, Europe, West Africa and Australia.
