Constructed at Wilson Sons Guarujá II, the vessels, 85 m in length and 19 m wide, will feature DP2-rated station-keeping powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system. A travelling gantry crane has been fitted and space has been allocated aboard vessel for future upgrades to the vessel including bulk handling capabilities.

Once built the vessels will be delivered to WilsonSons Ultratug and from then chartered to Petrobras on a six-year contract, with an option for a further six years. Wilson Sons has been building a number of Damen-designed vessels in Brazil for more than 20 years.

Meanwhile, a deal was inked for four ice-strengthened versions of the Damen PSV 5000 earlier this week, for operation in Canadian waters.
