Job opportunities boost for Panama seafarers with Euronav MoU

The Panama Ship Registry and the tanker company Euronav Ship Management (Hellas) Ltd., have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aiming at promoting opportunities for Panamanian seafarers on board Euronav vessels.

This MoU will facilitate the promotion of opportunities for Panamanian officers, cadets and junior staff and the establishment of specialised maritime education and training programmes for Panamanian seafarers required to work on board the various vessels owned or operated by Euronav, including the recruitment and placement of officers, junior staff and cadets.

The agreement was signed by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP)’ s Director of Seafarers, Captain Juan Maltez and for Euronav Ship Management (Hellas) Ltd., the General Manager, Captain Michail Malliaros.   

Euronav NV, together with its subsidiaries Euronav Ship Management SA and Euronav SAS oversee the management of the fleet dedicated to the transport and ocean storage of crude oil worldwide. There are approximately 200 Panamanian seafarers already working on its vessels, both Cadets and Officers.
