14 Hanjin Shipping vessels have berthed at PSA Singapore so far

Some 14 stranded Hanjin Shipping vessels have now berthed in Singapore with another due to come into port today.

According to an FAQ posted by terminal operator PSA on its website its has released over 3,000 containers to shippers from the Hanjin vessels that have so far called at the port. Since 22 September 14 vessels from the bankrupt shipping line have called at PSA’s terminals in the Lion City and the Hanjin China was due to berth at 5pm today.

Shippers with local import containers have to pay PSA a SGD5,000 ($3,637) deposit on the container which is refunded on return of the box.

PSA using container yard space to store empty Hanjin containers and has over 3,500 so far.
