Beibu Gulf Port is planning to invest RMB67.6bn ($10.6m) for port and shipping infrastructure construction in the coming five years.

The port will construct 300,000 tonne-class deepwater berth and 200,000 tonne-class automated container berth, increasing its berths volume from 90 to 120 at the end of the Fourteenth Five Year period.

The newly added cargo handling capacity and container volume of the port will reach 200m tons and 5.4m teu, which is equivalent to another Beibu Gulf port, according to Li Yanqiang, chairman of Beibu Gulf Port Group.

The port will also strengthen the development on international trading services, and expects to add 15 new services next year.
