The $933.4m Abidjan port expansion project is the government framework project with the largest single amount provided by Chinese government for Cote d'Ivoire and is also the largest EPC project that CHEC has constructed in West Africa.

The project started construction in November 2015, and includes three new container berths, a ro-ro berth, general cargo berth and shipping channels, to improve the cargo handling volume of Abidjan Port.

“The completion of the project will strengthen the company’s position in the region and the market,” said CHEC.

CHEC is a subsidiary of China Communication Construction Company (CCCC), exploring the overseas market on behalf of CCCC, to provide services of project investment, construction and operation.
