China Merchants Group appoints new chairman

In a change in top leadership China Merchants Group has appointed Miao Jianmin as its new chairman.

Miao has been serving as chairman of China Merchants Group Limited from July 2020 taking the place of the former chairman Li Jianhong.

Miao brings with him rich experience from the insurance industry. He previously served as vice president of China Insurance HK (Holdings), vice chairman and president of China Insurance International (Holdings), chairman of Tai Ping Insurance Co. Ltd., president of China Life Insurance (Group) and president and chairman of The People's Insurance Company (Group) of China.

Miao is also tutoring postgraduate programs at several top Chinese universities.
