The project, considered a demonstration for large-sized port intelligent construction, is jointly developed by China Merchants Port and eight Chinese research institutes and three overseas institutes, approved by the government in June this year.
Combining a series of advanced intelligent port technologies developed by China Merchants Port, along with the strategic position of CICT as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the intelligent port project is to be developed as a pilot demonstration.
CICT is a joint venture between China Merchant Port and Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
