Chinese ports volume growth maintained in last week of March

According to the China Ports and Harbors Association, eight major container ports’ maintained throughput growth for last week, with ports in Hubei is resuming operations.

The eight major container ports in China posted 3.4% growth on container cargo volume last week, among them, the port of Dalian and Guangzhou achieved an increase of over 25%.

The crude oil throughput at major Chinese ports increased 3.5%, and the iron ore throughput increased 6.3%.

The three major ports along Yangtze river, Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing posted 3.5% growth of container throughput. The ports in Wuhan were recovering faster last week and posted an increase of 3.8% and 27.8% for cargo throughput and container throughput respectively.

The port companies’ work resumption ratio has reached over 95% (not include Hubei province) under the acceleration of the work and production resumption.

In March, the cargo throughput and container volume of major ports in China has recovered as much as 90% comparing to the same period of last year.
