Congested Yantian port cuts export container receiving window

Yantian port is cutting the receiving time for export laden containers as the terminal yard nears capacity.

From 21 January laden export containers will only be received by Yantian with four days from estimated arrival of the vessel.

The move has taken are there has been no improvement in overseas ports congestion over the past two weeks, the vessels schedule delayed over 170 hours in average, and the vessel arrived on time ratio was less than 20%.

Many laden containers stuck inside the terminal of Yantian and yard density is close to full, according to Yantian International Container Terminal. 

The laden gate-in container quota of the port will maintain at 12,000 containers per day as usual.
