Container volumes at Tianjin port exceeded 2m teu in May

Tianjin port’s container volume surpassed 2m teu in May, hitting a new monthly high record.

Benefitting from the cooperation with major Chinese ports and the efforts to improve container logistics chain, the port posted a growth rate of over 20% year on year in May.

Tianjin port is actively promoting the application of 5G and automated technology in port operations to improve handling capacity and efficiency of the port.

Last year, Tianjin port handled 18.35m teu in container volumes, an increase of 6.1% year on year, was one of the top 10 container ports in the world.
