The Port of Valencia has received its first containership that was held up in the closure of the Suez Canal by the grounding of the Ever Given.

The Spanish port saw the arrival of the 9,500 teu MSC Le Harve yesterday, 6 April, to carry out the load and unloading of 2,300 containers.

Two more vessels caught in the blockage of the Suez Canal - MSC Conty Everest and the CMA Centaurus – are set to arrive in the Port of Valencia today. In the coming few days a further 10 – 12 vessels delayed by the grounding of the Ever Given are set to dock at the Spanish port, in addition to normal daily activities.

The Port of Valencia Authority said that, “operations are running normally, with the capacity to accommodate all the vessels in the docks, thanks to the collaboration of the port community, both port services and the transport sector”.
