The first bulker has called at the new bulk terminal in the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark.

The 11,546 dwt vessel Tertnes from Stema Shipping called at the Port of Esbjerg on Friday to unload 10,200 tonnes of gravel shipping from Jelsa, Norway.

The new bulk terminal, established a month ago, offers a combined capacity of about 17,000 cu m across its four holds, is intended for cargoes such as sand, crushed stone, gravel and granite.

“We’ve always had bulk at the port, but with the new bulk terminal, we’re expanding our offering by facilitating bulk goods handling in a structured way. We’re confident that this will attract more business to the port, and delighted to see M/S Tertnes inaugurating our new facility, which is the first step to achieving this goal,” concludes Port Esbjerg ceo Dennis Jul Pedersen.
