According to the agreement, the two port operators will enhance co-ordinated co-operation between Hebei province and Shanghai, actively promote co-operation on container shipping service and investment, opening up direct service from three major ports, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Huanghua, in Hebei to Shanghai and jointly strengthening intelligent port construction.

Hebei Port Group completed provincial port resources consolidation last year, a move which fully promotes the container shipping business, said Cao Ziyu, chairman of Hebie Port Group, “we are expecting SIPG to give more support on opening up and adding more foreign-trading services from Hebei.”

In 2022, Hebei province posted a container volume of 4.98m teu, hitting a new high, operating 70 domestic and foreign-trading services.
