Huangshi new port starts new expansion project

Huangshi new port, a major port area along China’s Yangtze river, has started the third phase project construction for port infrastructure expansion.

The project includes eight 10,000 tonne-class cargo berths consisting of four bulk cargo berths and four general cargo berths, with a handling capacity of 22m tonnes.

In addition, Huangshi city signed a cooperation agreement with Yantian port of Shenzhen for the promotion of port development. According to the agreement, Yantian port will combine the assets along Yangtze river to its unit in Huangshi to jointly develop port business with local industry players.

Huangshi New Port Company, the investor of Huangshi new port project, is a subsidiary of Yantian port. The first phase port project includes nine berths and the second phase project includes six berths.

Upon the completion of the third phase project, Huangshi new port will have a cargo handling capacity of 62m tonnes.
