Jiangxi Provincial Port Group has been officially established to integrate local port resources in the region.

The newly established port group will be engaged in port and shipping infrastructure investment and construction, port operation and management, cargo transportation and logistics services.

The integration of local port resources is a strategic plan for Jiangxi province to improve the opening up and strengthen its ports competitiveness, said the group.

The port group has already signed cooperation or equity transfer agreements with fourteen local terminal operators, targeting to complete the overall consolidation by the end of this June.

Currently, Jiangxi has two major national ports of Jiujiang and Nanchang, and five major regional ports of Ganzhou, Ji’an, Yichun, Shangrao and Yingtan.
