Liaoning Port Group launches first domestic container service to Shandong

Northeast China port operator Liaoning Port Group launched the first domestic container shipping service from Panjin, Liaoning province to Binzhou, Shandong province.

The company said opening of the new route would optimise the container shipping service of Liaoning Port Group and provide more environmentally-friendly transportation options for chemical product and construction materials in Northeast China, Shandong and eastern area of Inner Mongolia.

Liaoning Port Group, established in 2019, is a port resources consolidation and management platform in Liaoning province, mainly operating the ports of Dalian, Yingkou, Jinzhou, Dandong and Panjin.

It currently owns around 200 berths locally which are able to handle 400,000 tonne-class very large crude carriers (VLCC)/ very large ore carriers (VLOC), and 200,000 tonne-class container vessels.
