New sea-rail connection between Jiangxi and Ningbo - Zhoushan

A new rail service links Nanchang in China’s Jiangxi province with Ningbo - Zhoushan Port to provide onward international shipping connections.

Ningbo-Zhoushan port has inked a framework cooperation agreement with Nanchang authority and launched the first batch of trains for Cosco Shipping and Maersk on the route of Nanchang-Ningbo Zhoushan.

Jiangxi province is the starting point of Ningbo-Zhoushan port to run sea-rail transportation in other provinces. The port has established platform company in Nanchang for developing sea-rail combined transportation between Jiangxi and the port.

After ten years of development, there are now nine sea-rail transportation routes between Jiangxi and Ningbo Zhoushan which have seen total volumes of 541,000 teu to date.

Currently, Ningbo-Zhoushan port is cooperating with 43 shipping companies and providing sea-rail container transportation services to 103 ports from 66 countries and regions via Nanchang-Ningbo Zhoushan route.

Ningbo-Zhoushan port posted sea-rail container volume of 810,000 teu  in the first ten months of 2020, an increase of 23% year-on-year, surpassing the total volume of last year.
