Ningbo Zhoushan port container volume up 7.8% in H1

The Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan handled 23.19 million teu of containers in the first half of 2024.

The 23.9 million handled in the first half of 2024 represented an increase of 7.8% year-on-year for the Chinese port.

Cargo throughput at Ningbo-Zhoushan port was 574m tons, grew 2.5% over a year earlier. 

The domestic trading throughput was 3.04 million teu, an increase of 7.4%; while sea-rail combined transport volume stood at 925,000 teu, an increase of 14.6%. 

In the first half, port revenue of Ningb-Zhoushan hit a new record to RMB14.44 bilionn, increasing 16.32% while the net profit was RMB2.23 billion, up 1.43% year-on-year. 

Ningbo-Zhoushan port is the main operator of coastal port in Zhejiang province, managing the port operation of Ningbo-Zhoushan, Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Taizhou and land ports of Yiwu. The port expects to achieve 45.1m teu container volume and 1.115 billion tons cargo throughput for the whole year of 2024.
