China's Ningbo-Zhoushan Port posted a record cargo throughput of 1.34 billion tons in 2024

Handling 1.34 billion tons of cargo last year ensured that Ningbo-Zhoushan secured its position as the world's busiest port in cargo throughput for the 16th consecutive year.

The port's container throughput hit 47.64 million teu last year, up10.4% year-on-year.

For the year of 2024, Ningbo-Zhoushan port posted RMB28.64 billion revenue, an increase of 10.17% year-on-year, while the operating profit was RMB6.9 billion, increasing 11.36%. 

Ningbo-Zhoushan Port is currently served by more than 300 container services, including over 250 international routes, connecting over 600 ports in more than 200 countries and regions.

The sea-rail intermodal transportation at Ningbo-Zhoushan port also achieved double-digit growth with over 1.8 million teu throughput in 2024.
