In the first half of this year, Ningbo-Zhoushan port posted 444,000 teu sea-rail transportation volume, an increase of 15% year-on-year.

The port’s rail connections have been expanded to 54 domestic cities.

Cargo throughput at Ningbo-Zhoushan port was 568.89m tons in H1, an increase of 2% year-on-year while the container volume was 13.25m teu, dropped 4.7%.

Container transportation at Ningbo-Zhoushan port sharply declined in the first quarter due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. The status improved starting from the second quarter with the production resumption.

To maintain normal port operations, Ningbo-Zhoushan port has strengthened the cooperation with container lines and opened new domestic services. The domestic container volume at Ningbo-Zhoushan port increased 8.3% year-on-year in H1.

In April, Ningbo-Zhoushan port commenced operation of Chuanshan port rail station, which could effectively improve sea-rail transportation capability of Ningbo-Zhoushan port.
