Shenhua coal terminal at Zhuhai port to add berth capacity

China Shenhua Energy Company, Guangdong Yuedian Faneng Investment Company and Zhuhai Port have signed an agreement to increase investments into Shenhua Yuedian Zhuhai Port Coal Terminal for capacity expansion.

The three parties will totally invest CNY650m ($100m) investments into Shenhua Yuedian Zhuhai Port Coal Terminal, which is mainly engaged in the investment, construction and operation of a coal storage and transportation hub at Zhuhai port

Upon the completion of the capital increase, Shenzhen terminal will further expand handling capacity including the construction of one 100,000 tonnes-class bulk cargo berth and two 3,000 tonnes-class bulk cargo berths. The newly added terminal throughput will be 16m tons per year.

We will fully support the development and upgrading of the port project at Zhuhai and make it to be a green logistics hub, said Wang Xingzhong, deputy general manager of China Shenhua.

Shenhua coal terminal will have three 100,000 tonnes-class bulk cargo berths when the expansion project is completed.
