SIPG first half profit soars 127.1%

Shanghai International Port (SIPG) reported a CNY8.7bn net profit in the first half of 2021, up 127.1% year on year.

In the first half, SIPG posted a cargo throughput of 270m tons, an increase of 14.6% year on year. Container volume was 22.94m teu, up 14.3%, among which, Yangshan port area completed a container volume of 11.156m teu, accounting for 48.6% of the total container volume of Shanghai port. 

For future development, the port will focus on its main business, improving innovation capability and seeking breakthroughs from diversified industries. 

Shanghai port will also accelerate the construction of smart port, green port, technological port and efficient port, promoting large-scale strategic co-operation and resources consolidation to continually improve its core competitiveness. 

First half business revenue of SIPG was CNY17.36bn, up 44.2% compared to the same period of last year.
