Integrated energy logistics company Tristar Group of the UAE has won a five-year contract worth $8m to be sole transporter of helium cargo for Linde Global Helium across the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.

Tristar will utilise its specially designed fleet of trucks which has advanced built-in safety features, to ensure the safe transport and delivery of Linde’s cryogenic containers.

Group ceo and founder Eugene Mayne (pictured) said Tristar was delighted to have signed the new contract with long-standing customer Linde Global Helium, with which it has been working since 2006. In 2018 it won a global ‘outstanding safety performance’ award from Linde for having achieved 8m accident-free km for the transport of helium containers in the GCC.

We pride ourselves on having a robust supply chain, with a diverse portfolio of sources, the largest fleet of cryogenic bulk helium containers in the world, and a state-of-the-art facility in Dubai for the staging and maintenance of our global fleet,” said Kurt Richter, Linde’s head of helium supply chain management.

“With Tristar, we have a reliable partner who supports us in ensuring the supply of our global helium customers safely and on time, wherever they are."

Earlier this year, Tristar Group’s joint venture in Saudi Arabia, United Stars, signed a five-year contract with Linde-Sigas, to transport industrial and medical gases across the Kingdom from five centrally located depots in Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh, Jubail, and Yanbu.

Tristar describes itself as specialising in the maritime and road transport, storage and remote supply of fuels for blue-chip clients, including international and national oil companies and NGOs, with operations in 21 countries across three continents.
