Wuhu Changjiang (Yangtze river) Bridge Comprehensive Economic Development Zone Administration Committee has inked investment cooperation agreement with Huainan Mine Clean Energy Company for the development of an LNG inland river terminal project in Wuhu.

The project, located at Sanshan port area of Wuhu, with a total investment of around RMB3bn ($426m), will have a designed LNG handling capacity of 1.5m tons per year, including four berths, two 100,000 cu m LNG storage tanks and related facilities.

Wuhu Changjiang LNG terminal project is significant to local waterway transportation development, said He Maoxie, mayor of Wuhu, Anhui province.

In January this year, Wuhu Changjiang LNG terminal project received the approval from Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission. It is the first inland river LNG terminal locally, which is expected to greatly improve LNG supply and storage capacity in Anhui province and further promote green shipping along Yangtze river.
