Yantian container terminal passes 200m teu handled since 1994 opening

The accumulated container volume handled at Yantian international container terminal, Shenzhen, has exceeded 200m teu since it was opened in 1994.

This is the shortest time period for a container terminal to handle 200m teu from its opening.

In January 2013, Yantian international container terminal recorded handling 100m teu  and reached 200m teu in February 2021.

Currently, Yantian international container terminal has 20 large size deep-water container berths and has become one of the busiest container ports in the Asia-Pacific region.

Yantian international container terminal newly added eleven shipping routes in 2020, covering Africa, Australia, and South America. The import container volume of Yantian international container terminal increased 25% year-on-year. Each week, it offers nearly a hundred of shipping services to the major ports all over the world.

In 2020, Yantian international container terminal a posted 13.35m teu container throughput, an increase of 2.1% year-on-year.
