Zhejiang and Rotterdam ink agreement to develop Indonesian port

China’s Zhejiang Seaport Group inked cooperation agreement with Port of Rotterdam Authority (Indonesia) and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I to jointly develop Kuala Tanjung port.

The three parties will strengthen cooperation on Kuala Tanjung international hub port operation, local industrial park development and establishing joint venture in the industrial park.

In the past two years, we maintained effective communications for Kuala Tanjung port and industrial park development project amid the Covid-19 pandemic. “Our group will send a team to Kuala Tanjung port to further improve the business development and operation capacity of the port,” said Mao Jianhong, chairman of Zhejiang Seaport Group.

As early as 2019, the three parties had reached into agreement to develop Kuala Tanjung port, including optimiation of Kuala Tanjung multipurpose terminal by direct shipping from Kuala Tanjung to Ningbo, as well as developing new business plans for the port.
